KANTAHAN SA COMUNIDAD
A Guided Community Singing Experience
January 17, 2026 (Saturday)
1:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Comunidad, 3rd Floor 226 Wilson San Juan
What if singing didn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful?
Kantahan sa Comunidad is a 1-day community singing pop-up — a facilitated space where people come together to sing, listen, and connect.
What to expect:
• Gentle body, breath, and voice warm-ups
• Simple unison and harmony singing
• Basic guidance on healthy, comfortable voice use
• Emphasis on listening, blend, and shared sound
• A guided arc from warm-up to song study
• Optional light reflection or sharing
This is not a diagnostic or performance-based workshop.
Technique is present, but always in service of ease, comfort, and connection — not polish.
Why Community Singing?
Most people don’t stop singing because they “can’t sing.”
They stop because singing became evaluative.
This pop-up creates a space where:
• voices are not compared
• sound is shared, not judged
• participation matters more than performance
When we sing together without hierarchy, listening deepens — and community becomes audible.
Who is this for?
• Adults (18+)
• Curious singers intimidated by formal choirs
• People seeking creative, low-stakes expression
• Community members interested in embodied, collective practices
No prior singing experience needed.
Bring curiosity, openness, and a willingness to listen.
*Teacher Leroy Rodriguez is a lifelong student of music and movement. He is a Private Piano Instructor and the Music Director of “30 Sings” Vocal Ensemble.
This is a space for being with sound — not being assessed by it.
